Lift and shift acoustic leak detection
Wednesday 09 August, 2017
The German engineered and built SebaKMT Correlux C-3 correlator locates leaks in water supply mains. It comprises a set of wirelessly connected noise and vibration loggers. These are attached via magnets to valves or hydrants in pipe networks. Once deployed, the loggers listen for leak noises, record them, and analyse them. If the same signal is heard, the system will determine how long it took for each sensor to detect it. On basis of this correlation, it will calculate where the leak is and show its location in a built in display. Correlation of the leak noise also yields a low false positive rate.
